WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST SESSION?
We will spend an hour examining your health, both current and past (and family) to look at the interconnectedness of your condition. We will discuss your health, covering all types of body systems such as gut health, reproductive health, cardiovascular health and immune health. I will lead the questions but am happy to hear what you have to say, as you are the expert in your experience of the condition. At the end of the consult, I will explain anything you need to know in a way you can understand. I will tell you how long the treatment is likely to take (there are no 'band-aids' in naturopathy, only long-term fixes)
DO YOU HELP TREAT TERMINAL OR CHRONIC ILLNESS?
Naturopathy can work as an add-on therapy to western medicine for terminal illnesses. Herbs and supplements can lessen side effects of conventional medicine while also looking to address underlying causes of dysfunction within the body.
Chronic illnesses are definitely able to be treated with natural medicine (and I would encourage its use). Often in modern society there are underlying things going on that might contribute to getting a chronic illness. Like a detective, we can work through this and discover what it is that is causing your illness.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST TREATMENT?
Complete the intake form that will be sent to your email. Send it back preferably a week in advance (although, however soon in advance is better than not at all). If you could bring any blood results from recent doctor visits, that would be very helpful. Even if your doctor said your blood results were within normal constraints, Naturopaths look at the results a little bit differently and our ranges for 'normal' test results are within narrower constraints.
CAN YOU DO CONSULTS OVER THE PHONE?
I can do consults via Skype, however it is preferred that the first consult is face to face.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY HERBS TO ARRIVE?
Most herbs and supplements will be provided on the consultation day. Sometimes, I won't have the herbs with me on the day. In this case, it will take approximately 7 days for the order to arrive.
WHY SHOULD I SEE A NATUROPATH INSTEAD OF A MEDICAL DOCTOR?
Naturopathy can be used alongside General Practitioners and Specialists. If you have an issue that is chronic in nature and there is limited medical intervention, it could be worth seeing a Naturopath. As treatments are individualised to suit your needs, I'm happy to have an obligation free chat with you before the consultation to see if Naturopathy is appropriate for you.
CAN I USE MEDICATIONS AND HERBS AT THE SAME TIME?
There are quite a few herbs and supplements that cannot be used with particular medications. This is why it is imperative to use herbs under the guidance of a Naturopath or Medical Practitioner. Safety is incredibly important to me. I will work with your medications to find herbs and supplements that can be safely taken together.
